WenDai has no accounts, no sign-in, and no database. We do not collect, store, or process your personal information, your audio, your transcripts, or your notes. Everything you do with WenDai happens inside your own browser tab and is gone when you close it.
This site is served as static files. There is no upload endpoint: your audio is decoded and processed locally in your browser, then sent directly from your browser to the AI endpoint you configure (OpenAI by default, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint you choose). That processing happens under your own API account and is governed by your provider's terms and privacy policy — we are not a party to it. You can verify this yourself in your browser's developer tools.
Your API key is stored only in your browser's local storage, and only if you choose to remember it. It is sent exclusively to the AI endpoint you configured — never to us. You can remove it at any time from the key settings or by clearing your browser data.
Like any website, the hosting provider that serves these static files may keep standard access logs (IP address, user agent, requested pages) for security and delivery purposes. If error monitoring (Sentry) is enabled, technical error reports — stack traces and browser information — may be sent when the app crashes; these reports never include your audio, transcripts, notes, or API key.
WenDai sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
There is nothing to retain. Your content exists only in your open browser tab; closing the tab erases it. Export anything you want to keep before you leave.
